Petersfield Lions Club organised their second Lion Hunt on the Heath on Saturday 26th July between 12 & 3pm. Aimed at children aged 2-11years old, they were given a question paper, pencil and map to find answers on the 11 posters around the Heath Pond, with information on Lions Clubs and what we do within the community. On completion the children were given a voucher for a FREE “99 Ice Cream” and their paper could go into a draw to win a Large Cuddly Lion.
We were very busy with about 60 children taking part. We had some very positive feedback, the children enjoyed it, and many asked if we were going to do it again next year. The parents liked the fact it made the children walk all around the pond.
Rory was the lucky child to win the draw and his answers to Question 11, What would you like to do to make the world a better place? were, Recycling, Drive Electric Cars, Not Wasting Water and Not Using Too Many Paper Towels.
Both Rory and his mum were very pleased to have won and he’s looking forward to doing it again next year.
Petersfield Lions Club would like to thank Ian at the Plump Duck for his generous support in this venture.
Rory is seen above being presented with the Large Cuddly Lion by Petersfield Lion President Lin Piatek, along with Ian from the Plump Duck and event organiser Lion Jackie Read.
