2006 – Helping Young People

Lions are always willing to help the young. Among other things, in 2006, the Club has helped two local youth soccer sides. We’ve donated training bibs to one of the many Petersfield Town Junior sides and also presented a full strip (home and away) to the Kings Arms 5 a side team. The Kings Arms is a young persons facility in the town; in effect, an alcohol free pub. It is sponsored by PACT (Petersfield Area Churches Together) and serves a vital role in providing a safe venue for young people that is controlled by themselves.

The soccer team went on to reach the final stages of a national competition. They were eliminated in the league stage before the quarter finals. But they did their Club, and ours, proud by finishing 10th out of 3000 entries!
