Petersfield Lions raise some of their monies by attending local fêtes. The Club have a couple of stalls and fund raisers which are switched around according to the likely audience. Whilst not raising thousands fêtes are a good way to be seen in the community and stalls are easy to organise and are fun to man.
Our club ethos is to spend monies we raise not just to keep in a bank account for that one big event. The picture is of a presentation to Elizabeth Fitzroy Support which has premises in and around Petersfield. We are presenting some gardening equipment to the charity’s project in Liss. A few years earlier our donation enabled the charity to set up a Sewing Room in the Petersfield facility where their clients could receive training and practice.
The Lions were at both days of the Petersfield Festivities at August Bank Holiday. The event which was attended by around 15,000 gave the Club the chance to raise over £300 on the “Cuddly Toy” tombola and distribute some publicity material.
