Petersfield Lions Club, along with many other Lions Clubs in District 105SC joined forces to organise a Fun Day at Marwell Zoo for over 1000 disadvantaged children and their parents and carers. This is the first one that’s been able to be organised since lock-down. It was a hot sunny day, with a Lions meet and greet at the entrance, there were lots of very excited children, Lions activities in the hall for when a break was needed, and packed lunches to recharge everyone, nearly forgot, there were lots of animals to find as well, from Zebra & Giraffe, to hiding Tigers & inquisitive Meerkats, the list could go on.
Thanks go to the organising committee as well as the support staff at Marwell Zoo for organising such a great day out for so many.
We received many complements about the day including the following;
“Marwell was amazing! We were made to feel like VIPs and we were so lucky with the weather. The boys loved it such wonderful memories were made.”
Looking forward to next year.
