This year’s Petersfield Lions Club’s Peace Poster Competition, “We are all connected”, was won by The Petersfield School year 7 student Anna Ostersen. The competition saw some very imaginative and creative entries, but the judges, Petersfield Lions and local artist Caroline Strong felt Anna’s entry best represented the theme and was a worthy winner. Petersfield Lions Club President Clive Midson presented Anna with a Certificate, a Framed Copy of her picture and some Art vouchers.
The Petersfield School Head of Art Gary Leeson and Assistant Principal Oliver Holbrook were also presented with a certificate of participation for the school. Mr Leeson said, “It is wonderful for the students to enthusiastically and thoughtfully consider ways of interpreting a challenging theme with such creative and original entries.”. There were also 2 Highly Commended pictures by Ellie B & Rubie M-L.
The PeacePoster Competition is run every year by Lions Clubs International and this year’s theme was “We are all connected”. It’s a way of encouraging young people to think about world peace and their interpretation of this as a piece of artwork.
