This years Lions International Competition 2024-25 was entitled “Peace without limits”.
We had a great selection of entries by students of The Petersfield School’s after school Art Club to choose from, with some very creative interpretations of the theme.
Year 7 student, Juliet Chesney, was our overall winner this year, whose picture was chosen as best depicting the title “Peace without limits” by our judges, Caroline Strong (independent local artist), Lion Vice President Lin Piatek and Lions Hazel Nestor & Gill Medcalf. Juliet was presented with a framed copy of her Picture, a Certificate & a Voucher for the Art Shop.
A Highly Commended Certificate & Voucher was presented to Grace Bray, along with two Commended Certificates & Vouchers to Amalie Hughes and Isla Kennard.
The students were also required to do a short quote about peace relating to their picture.
Juliet wrote; “My artwork represents “Peace without limits” by bringing together people from all different cultures, races and abilities to form a continuous line of fun and emotionally expressive characters, giving the illusion that they go on forever. It signifies joy, colour and the discrete figures, all with individual natures”.
Highly Commended, Grace Bray
Commended, Isla Kennard.
Commended, Amalie Hughes.
Judging the entries Lions Gill and Hazel, Caroline Strong and TPS Art Teacher, Joy Bond.
